MLA College Graduation Ceremony 2025

MLA College Graduation Ceremony 2025.

On Friday 24 October 2025, hundreds of graduates gathered at the Theatre Royal Plymouth to celebrate the successful completion of their studies. MLA College graduates were in attendance, joined by their families, friends, and academic staff to mark this significant milestone in their academic and professional journeys.

Before the formal proceedings began, MLA College hosted a celebratory brunch for its graduates. This informal event provided an opportunity for students, guests, and staff to meet, reflect on their learning experiences, and recognise the support networks that helped them reach this point. Among those celebrated were graduates representing six countries, many of whom have successfully balanced part-time study with demanding full-time roles in organisations such as Boskalis Offshore Energy, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Al Seer Marine, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and the Micronesian Center for Sustainable Transport.

During the brunch, Professor John Chudley, Rector of MLA College, delivered a keynote address acknowledging the sustained effort, professionalism, and resilience demonstrated by the graduating cohort. He highlighted the diverse routes students take to reach graduation and the value of the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes they have developed throughout their programmes.

Following the morning celebration, graduates and their guests proceeded to the Theatre Royal Plymouth for the official University of Plymouth graduation ceremony, where MLA degrees are formally validated. The event brought together students from across the University’s partner institutions and formally recognised their academic achievements.

This year’s graduates exemplify the importance of continuing professional development within the maritime and sustainability sectors. Their accomplishments reflect how lifelong learning empowers mid-career professionals to drive innovation, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to positive change across the global maritime industry.

MLA College extends its congratulations to all graduates and expresses its appreciation to the University of Plymouth for hosting a well-organised and meaningful ceremony. We take great pride in the achievements of our students and look forward to seeing the impact they will continue to make within their respective fields.
