This summer, MLA College is hosting something a little different. On Friday 29 August 2025, we’re at The Green Taverners at Home Park for Band Together-a night of live music, local DJs, cold drinks, and good people, all in support of Shekinah.
Based in Plymouth, Shekinah works across Cornwall and Devon, providing support to the homeless community. Their efforts include a range of initiatives designed to address the causes and consequences of homelessness while providing supplies such as food and clothing on a daily basis for those in need.
Shekinah assists individuals in returning to the workforce through training and employment support, ensuring they gain the necessary skills for employment. They collaborate with organisations to secure accommodation, providing stable living conditions for the homeless members of our society. The charity also offers counselling services to address mental health challenges and substance abuse issues, key factors in the cycle of homelessness.
There’ll be live bands. There’ll be DJs. There’ll be a bar. There’ll be a raffle full of excellent prizes donated by generous local businesses. And there’ll be you (if you’re the kind of person who likes to make a difference but isn’t keen on running a marathon!) It’s a chance to let your hair down, have a fun night out, whilst supporting a local cause.
